This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect at ormskirk-student-events.co.uk, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights over it. We keep this policy plain and short on purpose.

What we collect

We only collect data you give us directly. This includes:

• When you sign up on Front Row: your first name, surname, email address, and whether you've given us permission to contact you.
• When you buy a ticket or product: your name, email address, phone number, and payment details.
• When you contact us: any information you choose to send us.

We do not track visitors to this website with cookies, analytics, or advertising pixels.

How we use it

• To send you exclusive content, competition details, and updates about upcoming events, where you've given permission.
• To process your order and issue a receipt, if you buy a ticket or product.
• To send you information about the event you bought a ticket for.
• To respond to questions or requests you send us.
• To comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Legal basis

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

• Consent: for marketing emails and the Front Row mailing list, which you can withdraw at any time.
• Contract: to fulfil orders you place with us.
• Legitimate interests: to run and improve our events, and to prevent fraud.
• Legal obligation: to meet tax, accounting, and card network requirements.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. Data collected through Front Row, and through our events more generally, is shared only between the two brands run by this business — Ormskirk Student Events (OSE) and Textbook (clubtextbook.uk) — so that we can tell you about relevant events and content under either brand. We also share data with the service providers that help us run our business:

• Stripe (payment processing and buyer data storage). Card details are handled by Stripe directly and never touch our servers. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Google (Workspace) for email hosting at our ormskirk-student-events.co.uk address. See Google's privacy policy.
• Email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, MailerLite, Brevo, or similar, used to send updates to people who have opted in.
• Meta Platforms (Instagram and Facebook) where you interact with us on those channels. See Meta's privacy policy.
• Netlify, which hosts this website and processes form submissions such as Front Row sign-ups.
• HMRC, our accountants, and other statutory bodies where legally required.

These providers act as data processors on our behalf and are contractually required to protect your data.

International transfers

Some of our providers (including Stripe, Google, Meta, and Netlify) are based in or operate from outside the UK, including the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, it is protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK-US Data Bridge, depending on the provider.

How long we keep it

• Order and payment records: 7 years, to meet UK tax and accounting law.
• Front Row and mailing list data: until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
• Support emails: up to 2 years after the last exchange, then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct it if it is wrong.
• Ask us to delete it, where the law allows.
• Object to us processing it, or ask us to restrict processing.
• Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.
• Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
